Just as the rain comes and goes, the seasons in our lives come and go. Last year October a new exciting season rolled into my life like a thunder storm with a lot of hype and lightning. Threatening, nerve wrecking, but oh so exciting. As the award ceremony for the Business Woman of the Year approached and the busier the candidates were kept, the closer the storm crept. The night of the award ceremony, just like a thunderstorm preparing, promising to deliver a storm, the Cinderella evening filled with glitz glamour and humour built up. With the announcement of my award it was like a thunderstorm breaking loose, letting go. All the waiting, the nerves and the hard work paying off, all at once.

The Boran cattle breed, as we know it today, is about 1,300 years old. Yes, you heard me right. The last time any “new” genes were infused into this breed was about 700AD. This means that the Boran is not a synthetic or compound breed that has been crossbred in the last few decades. This month’s entrepreneur of the month is quite an odd ball and a successful one at that. Kwaito, African House, Afro Pop, Reggae……and a white boy named EES. What? This is the response EES has become accustomed to in his travels through Namibia, South Africa and even Europe. A white guy doing Kwaito and other African style music, and who is good at it, is not something you often see. But everybody has accepted him for who he is, and he is one of Namibia’s most successful artists.

The mangosteen fruit is a small purple fruit similar to the size of a tangerine and is considered exotic. As with an orange the fruit is segmented and contains a type of “flower” at the bottom which interestingly enough, indicates the number of segments the fruit contains.
