Just as the rain comes and goes, the seasons in our lives come and go. Last year October a new exciting season rolled into my life like a thunder storm with a lot of hype and lightning. Threatening, nerve wrecking, but oh so exciting. As the award ceremony for the Business Woman of the Year approached and the busier the candidates were kept, the closer the storm crept. The night of the award ceremony, just like a thunderstorm preparing, promising to deliver a storm, the Cinderella evening filled with glitz glamour and humour built up. With the announcement of my award it was like a thunderstorm breaking loose, letting go. All the waiting, the nerves and the hard work paying off, all at once.SUBSCRIBE NOW

Life is a journey and tax tends to make the ride bumpy. The tax consequences of buying, owning or selling a motor vehicle is a road filled with potholes. With the necessary knowledge, this road can be negotiated without incident, but if travelled without guidance it can become a costly exercise.READ MORE
I can't imagine a single better thing to wake up to than the sound of rain or thunder bringing new promise of rain. To these incredible few rain showers we've been enjoying during the month of March '’m eternally grateful. READ MORE

BORAN CATTLE BREED
The Boran cattle breed, as we know it today, is about 1,300 years old. Yes, you heard me right. The last time any “new” genes were infused into this breed was about 700AD. This means that the Boran is not a synthetic or compound breed that has been crossbred in the last few decades. To the commercial farmer this indicates a much stronger hybrid vigour from the Boran than from other modern compounds.

ENTREPRENEUR OF THE MONTH EESY EES
This month’s entrepreneur of the month is quite an odd ball and a successful one at that. Kwaito, African House, Afro Pop, Reggae……and a white boy named EES. What? This is the response EES has become accustomed to in his travels through Namibia, South Africa and even Europe. A white guy doing Kwaito and other African style music, and who is good at it, is not something you often see. But everybody has accepted him for who he is, and he is one of Namibia’s most successful artists.
RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERSHIP
If you can start the day without coffee, are always happy, can eat the same food every day and remain grateful, then my friend you are probably the family’s dog. Unfortunately, what most often eludes people is the fact that even though dogs are unmatched in their devotion, loyalty and friendship to humankind, they are a big responsibility and commitment.
The mangosteen fruit is a small purple fruit similar to the size of a tangerine and is considered exotic. This fleshy fruit is sweet and slightly acid with a delicious flavor. READ MORE
CARS 101 WHAT EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW
Today there is very little that women can’t and/or won’t do. To quote one of my favourite TV series “nothing is just for dudes anymore, not NASCAR, not cigars and not even peeing standing up!” That might have been putting it a bit harsh, but let’s face it, if women want to live up to this statement they will need to toughen up, get down and dirty and learn the basics of automotive care.
DIETING BALANCING ACT
Experts calculate that the diet industry in the USA alone, is worth between US$60 and a US$100 billion, more than the US’ total healthcare budget. Altough, billions of dollars are spent annually on pills, potions, diet-plans and exercise-plans, only 5% of people who attempt to lose weight, do so and successfullykeeps the weight off. Research into the role of leptins, thyroid hormones, insulin and genetics has shed light on the way our bodies store and use different fuels for energy and why we may become fat, but in reality not much have changed and the miracle cure for an ever-increasing obesityproblem is still evading us.

MISTER SISTER CLINICS
All of us have driven on Namibia’s main tarred roads, marked by a “B” or a “C”. Whether north, south east or west, we know what to expect, which town comes next or how far we have to go to reach our destination.
